The special linguistic form is created by Chinese people in daily life and practice activities. It includes ancient names of
6、 people, places, events, customs and religion beliefs. Thank to its characteristics, it contains abundant cultural information. With a strong color of nationality, the unique characteristics are not easy to be translated. However, Chinese two-part allegorical saying plays an important role in cultur
7、e transmission, it is necessary for us to introduce Chinese culture of two-part allegorical sayings to readers. This research, explores techniques in literal translation of two-part allegorical sayings, in the hope of keeping culture information, to improve transmission of Chinese excellent culture,

IntroductionThe Chinese two-part allegorical saying has outstanding traditional Chinese cultural characteristics. It has special struct
11、ure. With former structure using vivid metaphor or allusion, the latter structure paraphrases the former structure. In addition, these characteristics make it more vigorous and humorous. Relative books about it: A practical coursebook on Translation (Feng Qinghua 2001). A course in English-Chinese T
12、ranslation (Zhang Peiji 2003). Thanks to differences of languages and culture, loan translation is easier to be accepted by readers, which changes shapes of two part allegorical sayings. For two-part allegorical sayings with a strong nationality color, liberal translation frequently was used, omitti
13、ng first part metaphor, translating second part real meaning. If a two-part allegorical saying could be translated in literal translation.
