1、 j j 文 化 品哮经典 蓦 川川： 。 量 譬 阿诺德_本涅特和他 口Benny 阿诺德本涅特(Arnold Bennett，18671931)，20世纪 初英国杰出的现实主义作家。一生著作颇丰、尤以小说见 长。他一生中创作出了30余部小说、13个剧本以及数则短 篇故事。 本涅特出生在英国斯塔福德郡的汉利。他在伦敦大学 学习过法律，后来离开学校，到律师事务所当了一名书记 员。他先后担任过杂志的助理编辑和编辑，1900年以后，他 开始全身心投入写作。他的许多小说都以他的故乡斯 塔福德郡“五镇”瓷器区为背景的，描写了工业区单调 枯燥的日常生活。 他最重要的代表作是老妇谭(The Old Wiv
