1、AstoryistoldaboutaSwedewhowantedtojoinNapoleonsGrandArmy.OneeveningsomeofNapoleonssoldiersweredrinkingtogetherwhenayoungFrenchmanbroughtfriendtotheirtable.HeexplainedthathisfriendwasaSwedeandknewnoFrench,butthisSwedeadmiredNapoleonsomuchthathewantedtojointheFrencharmyandfightforhim.Thesoldierslooked
2、upandsawatallyoungmanwithblueeyes,afriendlyface,strongarmsandbroadshoulders.Theylikedhimatonce.Theofficerssawthathewasjusttherightsortofman,sotheyacceptedhimandhebecameoneofNapoleonssoldiers.Hisnewfriendssmoothedawaythedifficulties.Hefoughtbravelyinmanybattlesandgainedtheirrespect.However,hisknowled
3、geofFrenchremainedveryweak,becausehewasnotgoodatlearninglanguages,butthisdidnotpreventhimfromfightinghard.Severalyearslater,wordcamethatNapoleonhimselfwascomingtoinspectthem,andtheSwedewaswarnedthatthegreatmanwouldprobablyaskhimsomequestion.TherewassomedifficultyinexplainingthistotheSwede,butwhenatl
