But if you put down a book you dont like and try another till you find one that means something to you, and then relax with it, you will almost certainly have a good time - and if you become, as a result of reading, better, wiser, kinder, or more gentle, you wont have suffered during the process.如果你只希望阅读带给你愉悦，那么它就只能是愉悦的。如果你只关注那些别人告诉你“应该看”的那些书，你或许不会获得愉悦。但是如果你放下自己不爱看的书，试着换一本，直到发现一本对你来说有意义的书，放松地去看，你就会很愉快，如果，由于读书，你变得更好，更智慧，更善良，或是更绅士了，那么你就不会再觉得阅读的过程很折磨了。
