2、的增长点，而且为交易环节中起关键作用的银行业的发展带来了难得的发展机遇，为突破银行传统的业务模式，拓展和延伸银行的服务提供了有利的武器。它以优质、快捷、全面的发物为人们展现了未来银行的思维模式，成为金融发展的方向，是新世纪中国金融创新的突破口。而网上银行业务作为现代银行发展的高级形式，在电子商务中扮演着非常重要的角色，并代表着银行业未来发展的趋势。作为现代市场经济的神经中枢和信息中心，网上银行其产生发展的态势与稳健状况，不仅对银行业自身会产生巨大影响，而且对整个社会经济的发展也会带来革命性的巨变。中国加入WTO，这一方面给我国银行业带来动力和发展生机，另一方面，也带来巨大的压力和挑战。面对日新
3、月异的银行业务发展趋势，中国商业银行业应抓住机遇和挑战，尽快在运作模式、科技创新、风险控制等方面做出反应，而大力发展网上银行则不失为其中一重要举措。网上银行能给银行创造更广阔、更自由的业务拓展空间。网上银行的一大特点就在于借助于“网络”开展业务，而不是在固定有形的营业场所内办理业务。这一特点就决定了一方面银行开展业务不受客户所在地理位置及其有限时间的约束，同时也就不受政府监管当局对新设机构网点有关规定的限制，金融的自由化程度大大提高了；另一方面，网上银行的现代化程度和高技术的支持，使得银行开发新的金融产品或新的金融服务项目有了基础，由此决定了银行市场业务的拓展更具有广阔性。网上银行能增强银行的
4、竞争能力。随着市场化程度的不断提高，随着信息技术的不断更新，随着高科技手段不断在银行中的应用，银行业的竞争越来越激烈。那么，如何在激烈的竞争中获得优势，就成为决定银行生存发展的关键。由于网上银行能够降低交易成本，能够以强大的力量吸附客户，能够创造业务发展生机，能够提供高质量的服务，能够树立良好的银行形象。因此，网上银行则成为提高银行竞争力的强有力的手段。我国网上银行业务与西方发达国家相比虽然还存在很大的差距，处于初级阶段，而且所提供的服务基本上是传统业务在网上的延伸，还缺乏适合因特网特点的网上银行新业务。但是，我国的网上银行业务已开始起步，并且随着银行经营策略的调整和因特网环境的改善，在全球网
