3、uction covers the inspection test and verification activities required to validate the supply manufacture and test of pipe fittings Alloy Steel 2 0SCOPE This instruction covers all the necessary stages in the shop manufacture of pipe fittings from the examination of certification from procurement so
4、urces to the final inspection preservation and packing for dispatch to site Although the methodology in compiling this instruction is to systematically progress through the process cycle for the manufacture of a typical item of pipe fittings Experienced inspectors may interpret the intent of this in
5、struction to accommodate local or novel practices or the use the procedure for a one off type of manufacture Any variations should be noted on the inspectors report Most pipe components are manufactured to well known specifications 3 0PROCEDURE 3 1GENERAL The instructions together with its associate
6、d check sheet may be used on any order or contract It is intended to act as a guide to the inspector during the course of the inspector programme Any part of the document may be invoked and the sections to be used with the level of inspection required will be specified on the check sheet All tests a
7、nd inspections will be carried out against approved drawings purchase order specifications purchasers and company standards and within the practices and rules of the country state or province and any government decrees law ordinance or regulation as may apply If any conflict or contradiction should
8、be apparent in any of the above the more onerous requirement will apply unless the purchaser or client directs otherwise in writing 3 2REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Applicable codes and specifications Design code Purchase order specification Purchasers standards Approved drawings SGS company standards Applica
9、ble codes and standards sample only ANSIB31 1 4 0DOCUMENTS TO BE RECEIVED AVAILABLE AT INSPECTION Purchase order contract Pipe Fittings Inspection and Test Plan ITP Material test certificates Heat treatment procedures NDE Procedures Correct type of fitting Size and wall thickness Ends diameters and
10、prep Welded or seamless The pipe fittings should also be free from dents scrapes and handling damage 5 3 HEAT TREATMENT Inspector to review Heat Certificates 5 4 NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING NDT Inspector to witness following NDT a Liquid Penetrant of Bevel Weld Ends b Review Radiographic Records 5 5 MECH

12、hecked 5 7REPORT AND RELEASE 5 7 1REPORTING A final report summarising the activities carried out will be issued in accordance with the contract requirements and circulated within the time limits laid down The report will be in a format approved by the client and must clearly indicate the final acce
13、ptance or rejection of pipe fittings 5 7 2 RELEASE NOTE When required by the contract a release document will be issued to the manufacture when pipe fittings have been finally accepted 6 0SHIPPING Check pipe fitting ends are fitted with protection against damage abrasion and other damage Check shipp
14、ing marks to marking instructions and record Verify that packing conforms to specification for the mode of transport 7 0PIPE FITTINGS DATA DOSSIER The following final documents will be reviewed and endorsed as necessary Manufacture Data Reports Material Certification Mechanical Test Results NDE Repo
