(信不一定写完)探究三：过去进行时的用法：用法：1. 只有延续性动词才能用于过去进行时，短暂性动词不可以，它通常与when引导的时间状语从句连用，当一个动作发生时，另一个动作正在进行。如：I was cleaning the room when Tom call

9、ning his car while I was cooking. 主句和从句的动作在过去的某时刻或某段时间同时发生，而且动作都是持续性的，此时用_引导从句，而且主句和从句都用_时态。(1) 表示“当的时候”时，如果后面连接的动词为延续性动词，则多用while，而when通常与短暂性动词连用（也可与延续性动词连用）；当后面的句子表示一种状态时，两者可以互换。 如：While I was buying a newspaper, my dog ran away. =I was buying a newspaper when my dog ran away. 10、n/while I was in primary school.(2) 如果while前后的句子都是进行时态（现在进行时或过去进行时），while可译为“与此同时”。如：I was sleeping while my mother was cooking breakfast.(3) 当while前后的句子描述的情况相对或相反时，while可译为“而”，while更强调并列的对比而非转折。如: I like Chinese food while she likes French food.(4) 当when引导的带有短暂性动词的从句与进行时态的主句连用时，when 有时候可以根据情况译为“突然，
