1、龚鉥博士国际会议上的讲话(英文案例部分) EastMeetsWest:TheGlobalChallengesinPsychotherapy ThisisthecaseofJudy.Shewasbroughttomygroupbyherprimarytherapist.Itwascustomaryforhertherapist,astudentintrainingwithme,tobringthemostdifficultpatientstomygroupfortreatment.Likeeveryoneelseinthegroup,Judywasencouragedtoparticipatei

2、nalltheproceduresAlthoughshediddoapainting,formostofthefirstthree-dayworkshop,Judysatinacornercurledupinafetalposition. Duringthesecondgroupsessionfivemonthslater,Judywasencouragedtoeuptothedramaticstagewithherpainting.Herpaintingshowedasmallfigurelyinginthemiddlesurroundedbylayersandlayersofdarkcol

3、ors.Judystoodinacornerofthestage,pullingherhair,hittingherselfontheheadandrefusingtomakeeyecontactwithme.Shemadegrowlingsoundslikeananimal.Wehadtoprotectherbyrestrainingher. Iencouragedhertoliedownonamattress.Shebecameterrified,muteandshaking.Shedissociated.Icalledhernameandbroughtherbacktoherself.I

5、kend,Istartedherdramawithamirrorscene.Ihadherchoosesomeonetoplayherlyingdownonamattress,andIhadamalememberofthegroupwalkslowlytowardthebed.Judymadeastrangesoundandclasped.Iaskedherwhowasthatmanenteringtheroom.Shekepthittingherselfandwasunabletoansweratfirst.Finally,shesaidinabarelyaudiblevoice,“Dadd

6、y.”Iaskedherwhathadhappened.Whenshewassevenyearsold,herfathercametoherroomandrapedher. Idimmedthelightinthetheaterandhadthescenereenactedatherspecification.Afemaleauxiliarywaschosentoplaytheperpetrator.ThistimeJudywasabletopulltheperpetratorawayfromtheseven-year-olddoubleandthrowhim(her)offthestage.

Theenergyworkoverthedumaimeridian(alongthespinalcolumn),whichconnectstoalltheyangmeridiansinthebody,allowedhertoreleaseherpent-upemotions.The

12、releaseofhernegativeemotionshelpedhertoletgooftheenergyblockagethathadinterferedwithhernaturalgrowthprocesses.Thegroupssupportandtheloveandaffirmationofhertherapisthelpedhertoseeotherpeopleaspotentiallycaringratherthanantagonistic.Thetherapeuticexperienceopenedherheart/mindandalteredherperceptionoft

13、heworldfromanenvironmentofhostilitytoaplaceofloveandpassion.Itislovethatheals.ThegroupssupportandhertherapistswarmthandcaringplayedamajorpartinJudysgrowthanddevelopment. Ourexperiences,especiallywhentheybringuspain,anguish,orothernegativefeelingsandemotions,formascreenthroughwhichwejudgeoursubsequen

14、texperiences.Thesejudgmentsblockthefreeflowofqi(氣)inourbody,mindandspirit,andimpedeourrelationswiththeworld.Weloseourconnectionwiththecosmicflowofdao(道).Weloseourtrustinthelivingprocessesofnature.WebegintoviewtheworldwithaCartesianmind.Ourinnateconnectionwiththeprimordialsourceofthelifeforceisbroken

15、.Howcanweregaintheinnocenceofachild?TheanswerfortheDaoistisspontaneityandcreativity;fortheChinesetraditionalphysicians,itistolivealifeinharmonyandbalancewithnature,withoutenergyblocksorimbalance. WesternallopathicdoctorsbasetheirviewonNewtonianscience.AsAndrewWeilhasnoted,“ourmedicaldoctorshavenarro

16、wedtheirviewtopayattentiononlytothephysicalbodyandthematerialaspectoftheillness.”6Theyseeourbodyasabio-machine;ifanypartisbrokentheycanfixit.Theydonotperceivethathealingisaplexprocess,acreativeprocessofconstantlychanging,balancingandharmonizingbody,mindandspirit.TraditionalChinesemedicineconsiderstheillnessfromtheperspectiveoftheharmonyandbalanceoftheqi(氣)orthevitalforce,itsfreeflowwithintheinternalorgans,anditsinterconnection
