15、the plateau, play a crucial role in water supply, fishing, waste disposal, lake reclamation, agriculture, and industry However, the catchment area of these lakes has been subject to deforestation, agricultural intensification, soil erosion, urbanization, and industrialization. 国际交流英语模拟国际会议continuedA

16、s a result, water pollution and water shortages have now become a severe problem which has received more and more attention from the public and the government . For example, several water-quality monitoring programs have been initiated to track lake water quality in Yunnan Province. These programs r

19、cluster analysis) and display methods (PCA) to obtain correlations between variables and water quality similarity in groups of lakes. Cluster analysis confirmed the existence of three types of water quality (i.e., low-, medium-, and high-polluted lakes). Although three PCs needed 14 variables to exp

20、lain 85.01% of the original data set, which indicated that no obvious data reduction was obtained, three latent factors can identify different pollution sources: agricultural and industrial activities, residential activities, and anthropogenic-toxic pollution from industrial effluents or other speci

21、al activities. Box-whiskers plots of water quality variables showed visually the spatiotemporal variations of water quality variables, which may help further analyze the pollution sources loading into these lakes. All these results can provide better opportunities for more effective management of la
