1、Speaker: XXX Partner:XXX, XXX, XXX XXX , XXXThe Ruins of YuanmingyuanAs you know,Yuanmingyuan was ever a royal garden.It was very large and gallant.What was different to most of other ancient Chinese garden,Yuanmingyuan was in western style.Yuanmingyuan was built in 1703,and completed in 1792. It wa
2、s made up with Yuanmingyuan,Changchunyuan and Wanchunyuan.There were more than 100 sights and it occupied 160,000 square meters.In Emperor Qianlong year, when the Lantern Festival was coming, Emperor Qianlong would sat in the gloriette(亭子) and there was a big maze around him. Then when someone said
3、”Start!”, four ladies-in-waiting were running fast to the gloriette from four directions at the same time, because the one who arrive first would acquire an abundant rewards. So I thought it was an interesting custom in Yuanmingyuan. Then, on October 6th in 1860, combinted armies of English and Fran
4、ch were coming. They brought many guns, grenades and many other advanced weapons. They rushed to Yuanmingyuan, and robbed everything valuable. They put them in many cars and took them away. If something was too large to take, they would destroy it. Whats more, they fire Yuanmingyuan three days!So, Y
5、uanmingyuan was destroied seriously. No sight was complete. The gallant royal garden change to ruins in three days. But Emperor Xianfeng had run away.Last Summer,I went to Yuanmingyuan. I saw the ruins of Yuanmingyuan. The ruins are messy and fragmentary(碎片的，不完整的).The following picture was one of th
6、e photos I have taken.Today,some people say we should rebuilt Yuanmingyuan, but I dont think we should do it. The ruins of Yuanmingyuan can graduate people,especially teenagers.
