6、increasedby7.8%,whilethepriceoflandusedforresidentialdevelopmentroseby9.6%whencomparedwiththoseofthesameperiodlastyear.On27April,theStateCouncilExecutiveMeetinganalyzedthepropertymarkettrendandproposedeightmeasureswithanaimtointensifyguidanceandcontroloverthemarket.On9May,theGeneralOfficeoftheStateC
7、ouncilforwardedthe“OpinionsonCarryingOuttheWorkofStabilizingHousingPrices”jointlypromulgatedbysevenministriesandcentralgovernmentagencies.Withthemarkethavingawait-and-seeattitudeafterthepromulgationofthisnotice,citieslikeShanghai,Hangzhou,BeijingandXiamenallreportedover20%dropintheaveragedailyturnov
8、erinMaywhencomparedwiththatinApril.ThisphenomenonwasparticularlyobviousinShanghai.ThemonthlyturnoverofcommodityresidentialpropertythereinMayandJuneaveragedaround800000squaremeters(sqm),whichwasonly30%oftheaveragemonthlyturnoverof2.7millionsqmin2004.Companys Responses and Business ReviewThecompanyspe
