It carries the speakers personality and allows immediate interaction

Good or Bad Presentation The followings will be subconsciously considered by audiencen nYour voiceYour voice - how you say it is as important as what you say n nThe BodyThe Body - Your body communicates different impressions to the audience. People not only listen to yo

3、u, they also watch you. nEye contact nFacial Expressions: Smiling nGestures n nActive ListeningActive Listening - Good speakers not only inform their audience, they also listen to them. n nNervesNerves - Do not fight nerves, welcome them! n nQuestionsQuestions - Questions do not mean you did not exp

4、lain the topic good enough, but that their interest is deeper than the average audience. n nHabitsHabits - We all have a few habits, and some are more annoying than others. To prepare the presentation, ask yourself the following: nWhat is the purpose of the presentation? nWho

Prepare the structure of the talk carefully and logically, You can make a list of following two things as your starting point, they are: n nthe objectives

If You will find things that are irrelevant - delete them. If there are things you cannot easily express, possibly because of doubt about

8、 your understanding, it is better to leave them unsaid. Organising presentationFour main sections of an oral presentation:1.The introduction2.The body3.The conclusion4.The question and answer sessionIntroduction This is an important point because the introduction gives the audience their first impre

9、ssion of you. An introduction containing: nThe topic of your whole presentation? nSome background information to show why the topic is important? nA sentence describing the aim or purpose of your presentation? nAn outline of the main points you will talk about? How to prepare a good introduction A g

10、ood presentation starts out with introductions and an icebreaker such as a story, interesting statement or fact, joke, quotation, or an activity to get the group warmed up. The introduction needs an objective, that is, the purpose or goal of the presentation. (This not only tells you what you will t

11、alk about, but it also informs the audience of the purpose of the presentation). Notices:nRealize the importance of introduction.nDont make the introduction too brief, it covers 10 to15 percent of your speech.nSelect the ways to capture the audience attention.nIndicate the topic, outline your speech

12、, announce your purpose.nDont start with your speech with apologiesnPay attention to your body language.You show the audience that your English is good and that you are a well-organised person by using the following expressions:nGood morning / afternoon / evening, ladies and gentlemen. nWelcome to m

Therefore I recommend that you learn these phrases and use them in your presentations. I

22、d now like to invite any questions you may have.Using visual aidsnVisual aids such as charts, graphs and videos can enhance your message.nKeep it simple though - a complex set of hardware can result in confusion for speaker and audience. Edit your slides as carefully as your talk nSlides should cont

23、ain the minimum information necessary. nUse a reasonable size font and a typeface which will enlarge well. nUse colour on your slides but avoid orange and yellow which do not show up very well when projected.
