11、y Emergency Plan, or AUSVETPLAN (Edition3). AUSVETPLAN structures and functions are described in the AUSVETPLAN Summary Document. The strategy provides information about the disease (Section 1); the relevant risk factors and their treatment, and the options for management of a disease outbreak depen

12、ding on the circumstances (Section 2); and the policy that will be adopted in the case of an outbreak (Sections 3 and 4). The key features of FMD are described in Appendix 6.This manual has been produced in accordance with the procedures described in the AUSVETPLAN Summary Document and in consultati

13、on with Australian national, state and territory governments, and the ruminant and pig industries. FMD is included on the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) list of notifiable diseases as a multiple species disease. This obliges OIE member countries that had been free from the disease to not

14、ify the OIE within 24hours of confirming the presence of FMD. OIE-listed diseases are diseases with the potential for international spread, significant mortality or morbidity within the susceptible species and/or potential for zoonotic spread to humans. These criteria are described in more detail in

15、 Chapter 1.2 of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code (www.oie.int/index.php?id=169&L=0&htmfile=chapitre_1.1.2.htm).
