Appreciation First and foremost is appreciation.As we all know, a good student is not the result of teaching but appreciation. We must always try to find out every slight fla
2、shing spot of each student，especially the backward one. We must let each student realize that they have the opportunity to succeed. We must regard our English education as appreciation education.2. Competition and individual targets Now Id like to come to my second point. Its about competition and i
3、ndividual targets. Do you still remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? The tortoise enjoys a good fortune of the hare falling asleep during the race. We know the story is a fairy tale, few hares are falling asleep today.However, when students believe that they have a reasonable chance for
4、success, competition often spurs them to high levels of effort and excellence. So, we can provide opportunities for individuals at every level to perform at their best.You know, word memory work is a hard task for almost all my students. So I teach new words from different levels. I ask low-level st
5、udents just to open their mouth to pronounce the basic words correctly, middle-level students to remember basic words from their surrounding and write the English meaning, top students not only to write the English meaning but also classify the words they have learned and I suggest they associate on
6、e word with another. Now lets take “death” as an example, they can remember the following sentence: The dying man told me a story about his dead pet dog before he died. His death made me feel sorry.3. Rewards Last, but not the least one, we should give the successful students some rewards. Just by g
7、iving them oral or written encouragement, body caress, creating opportunities, we can make them more confident and drive them to grow.How to arouse and retain the interest is really a hot topic, a scared mission for every English teacher to complete. Taking appreciation as the bridge, competition an
