1、第8章 介词 (preposition)8.1介词的定义一个单词置于名词或名词同等语（名词短语、代词、动名词）之前组成一个表意单位（短语），以表示该名词或名词同等语与句中其他单词关系的，称为介词。pre-（在前部）+position（位置）preposition, 因此日语译为前置词，不过中文译为介词是就Preposition的功能所作的译法，日语译为前置词是就词意所作的译法。【例1】A cat is on the box. on用来表示box与cat的关系。【例2】Thank you for what you have done for me(名词同等语).for表示what you hav
2、e done for me与thank的关系。8.2介词的用法介词 + 名词：I gave the book to Charlie.介词 + 代词：I gave it to him.介词 + 动名词: He devotes his time to reading.介词始终带有宾语。即使介词与宾语分开时，这种关系必定存在。【例3】Whom were you talking to?【例4】The chair I was sitting on was shaky.8.3介词的形式介词有两种形式：单个词：at、from、to两个或两个以上的词：according to、apart from、becau
3、se of、out of8.4介词后的代词介词后的代词必须用宾格形式【例5】The car stopped behind me.【例6】Between you and me,there is no truth in the report. 当两个代词被and 隔开时，仍用宾格。8.5介词、副词小品词介词支配着宾语，它总与名词、名词短语、代词、动名词有关；副词不支配宾语，它与动词关系密切。有些词可以起介词的作用，也可以起副词小品词的作用。其后跟宾语，则起介词作用；其后没有宾语，则起副词小品词的作用。【例7】We drove round the city.（round有宾语city, 是介词）We
4、 drove round.（round无宾语, 是介词小品词）8.6表示动态或静态的介词一个介词可根据句中不同的动词而表示动态或静态。【例8】动态：We drove above + 宾语 静态：We were above + 宾语8.7有关时间的介词介词at、on、in、during、for、from、since、till等可以表示时间。用at、on、in 的时间短语at 10 oclock、at noon、at dinner time、at Christmas、at the age of 14on Monday、on Monday morning、on June 1st、on that da
5、y、on your birthday、in the morning、in March、in 1989、in winter、in the 19th century、in that time8.8成对的介词和小品词介词和小品词可以重复使用表示强调。【例9】We went round and round (the town) looking for the hotel.有些介词可以对照使用。【例10】My efforts were on and off.8.9介词短语的构成副词小品词 + 介词：Im going down to the beach.形容词 + 介词：successful in、emb
6、arrassed about 名词 + 介词：success in、embarrassment about、emphasis on 名词常带有与其相应的形容词或动词所带的介词。名词 success in 动词 succeed in 形容词 successful in但也有例外。如：emphasize不跟介词，其名词形式emphasis却跟介词on.8.10短语动词当短语“动词 + 介词或副词小品词”形式产生明显的特殊意义时，它具有动词作用，被称为短语动词。【例10】give in = surrender 具有动词的意义。但give与in本身并无surrender的词义。因此give in是短语动词。8.11动词 + 介词或副词小品词的类型动词 + 介词：get over动词 + 宾语 + 介词：remind someone of动词 + 副词小品词：come about动词 + 副词小品词 + 介词：run out of
