1、What does he look like?Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to my class. Before the class Id like to address my great honor to share my teaching ideas with all of you. Im contestant NO?. Today my teaching topic is unit 7 What does he look like? Section B. In this class, Ill divide my teaching

2、 plan into 8 parts. They are teaching materials, teaching objectives, teaching key points and difficulties, students analysis teaching methods, teaching aids, teaching procedure and blackboard design. Now, Ill introduce them one by one. Please follow me into the first part.Teaching materials. In thi

3、s part Ill mainly talk about the status and funtion of the teaching material. Go for It is a series of textbooks compiled for junior middle school students. The central idea of it is to challenge students to gain communicative competence in the study of the culture of this language. Each unit makes

4、full use of language goals to stimulate meaningful conversation between students. Conversation models and tasks are given to show the students how to master appropriate functional patterns. Emphasis is laid on cooperation, communcation and discussion, with students working in pairs or in groups to h

5、elp them develop their language competence.The topic of this unit is physical appearance. The functions are to describe peoples looks. In section A we are provided with some patterns on this topic. And section B is the comprehensive application on the basis of a systematic mastery of section A.Knowi

6、ng something about the material, lets come to the next part- Teaching objectives. I divide the objectives into knowledge objectives, ability objectives and moral objectives. First, knowledge objectives. Basically, in this unit, students should try their best to master some new words, useful expressi

7、ons and structures.Second, ability objectives. To some extent, students will make progress in listening, speaking, reading and writing in class. As a matter of fact in the language learning process, the four skills are inseparable and mutual interactive. They all contribute to the development of the

8、 language competence. Therefore activities in different forms concerning listening, speaking, reading and writing are introduced to challenge their language skills.Next, moral objectives. According to the new standard of English curriculum, moral education plays an important role in language teachin

9、g. In this unit, by the description of their friends, teachers and family members, students can learn to respect others and then describe their looks politely. Thus they will succeed in keeping a good social relationship.Thats it for objectives. Lets move on to the next part: Teaching key points and

10、 difficulties. The key points of this unit are some new words, expressions and structures, as listed on the screen. The new words are: beard, and glasses. The expressions: new look, notany more. And the structure: What does he look like? They are the key points students should pay more attention to.

11、 As for the difficult point, the ss should use different adjectives to describe peoples looks. This arrangement is decided by the functions of this unit.Next is Students analysis. Having a clear idea about the textbook is far from adequate to make a good class. We should definitely know something ab

12、out the main body of our class- the students. Most of the junior middle school students are aged from 13 to 15. They are active, talkative and creative with strong abilities of memorizing, imitating and performing. So Ill provide real contexts, various tasks and challenging activities. The purpose i

13、s to motivate students learning enthusiasm and cooperative spirit.As far as Teaching methods is concerned, task-based teaching method is to be adopted. Various tasks will be designed for the students to master appropriate functional patterns. Besides, I will mainly use situational teaching method an

14、d audio-visual teaching method. Various contexts will be set vividly. And different topics will also be brought up for discussion Next lets talk about Teaching aids. To stimulate the students senses effectively, I will make use of multimedia to assist my class. Besides, some real objects, cartoons,

15、pictures, recordings and charts will also be helpful. This will help to create the language situation and enhance the communication between teacher and students. Weve finally come to the most important part of my teaching plan-Teaching procedure. It is made up of 5 parts. They are preparation, prese

16、ntation, practice, production and homework.Now, time to talk about the first step:Preparation.At the beginning of the class, Ill present them a picture of Barbie and her friend. They each have their own characters. What the ss should do is match the picture with the right words. The purpose is to help students review some adjectives and expressions which describe peoples looks. Another content is group work. I raise a question
