Talk about films of Titanic and The Old Man and the Sea to introduce the sea story adapted from A Descent into the Maelstrom.2. Use pictures to review the key words:whirlpool, edge,

3、barrel, float, survive, terrified etc. Pre-reading Students use pictures and linking words to decide the correct order of the events. Students are introduced the idea of linking words and its funtion of sequencing. Reading for general ideaStudents listen to the tape and find out: When and where did
