4、thegenderorsex. 2.Nowweneedtosorttheinformationintosomesortofsense: a.)Thefirstthingtodowithanytableistofindthehighestandlowestnumbers.Lookingatthesetableswecanseethatboystendedtoscorehighlyinsportandlowlyinlanguages,andthatgirlsontheotherhandtendedtoscorehighlyinlanguagesandlowlyinsport.Thisisthefi

5、rstandmostobvioussignificantfeatureofthetables-theboys/strongsubjectisthegirlsweaksubjectandviceversa. b.)Butacomparisonofsubjectscoresbetweenthetwosexesrevealsonlylimitedsignificance.Wecanseethatformostofthesubjectstheboysandgirlsgotsimilarscores.Boysscoredslightlyhigheringeography,butbytheageof15t

8、wasnotthesameforboysand;girls.Thispatternseemstorevealthatbothboysandgirlswentthroughaslumpinacademicperformance,butatdifferenttimes,whichiscertainlyaninterestingfeatureofthedatainthetables,anddefinitelyneedstobementioned.Thelargestdifferencebetweenscoresfortwodifferentagegroups(Languages-10%;65-75%

9、13-15yrs)shouldalsobenoticed. 3.Thenextthingtodoistotakeouranalysisofthedataandmakeaplanforourreport.Aplanforthesetablesmightlooklikethis: a.)Introductorysentence-tableshows:percentagescoresforschoolsubjects(list),differentages(list),differentsexes. b.)Highestandlowestsubjectsforboys/girls-sport/lan

11、manceslumpbutatdifferentages. 4.Afteraplanhasbeenmade,wecanwritethereportincorporatingthefactsandfiguresfromthecharts.Lookathowthishasbeendonebelow.Keepinmindthattheanswerbelowisquiteextensive,andthatoftenbecauseoftimeanswerswillnotbeasdetailedasthis.Inthosecasestheleastsignificantinformationshouldb

12、ediscarded.InthiscasetheleastsignificantinformationisthataboutboysbeingslightlyhigherinGeography,andthepartaboutthegreatestdifferencebetweentwoparticularagegroups.
