1、国际会议口译工作者协会关于职业道德准则的规定AIIC: CODE OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICSAIIC:国际会议口译员协会是国际会议口译人员的国际组织,以其入会资格严苛著名,其会员身份是国际公认的合格会议口译人员的标志。该协会制定的职业道德准则对于我国的口译人员有较高的参考价值。以下是职业道德准则的英文内容。I. Purpose and ScopeArticle 1a. This Code of Professional Ethics (hereinafter called the “Code”) lays down the standars of integrity, pro

2、fessionalism and confidentiality which all members of the Association shall be bound to respect in their work as conference interpreters.b. Candidates shall also undertaketo adhere to th provisions of this Code.c. The Council, acting in accordance with the Regulation on Disciplinry Procedure, shall

3、impose penalties for any breach of the profession as defined in this Code.II. Code of HonorArticle 2a. Mombers of the Association shall be bound by the strictest secrecy, which must be observed towards all persons and with regard to all imformation disclosed in the course of the practice of the prof

4、ession at any gathering not open to the public.b. Members shall refrain from deriving any persnal gain whatsoever from confifential information they may have acquired in the exercise of their duties as conference interpreters.Article 3a. Members of the Association sahll not accept any assignment for

5、 which they are not qualified. Acceptance of an assignment shall imply a moral undertaking on the members part to work with all due professionalism.b. Any member of the Association recruiting other conference interpreters, be they members of the Association or not, shall give the same undertaking.c.

6、 Members of the Association sahll not accept more than one assignment forthe same period of time.Article 4a. Members of the Association shall not accept any job or situation which mightdetract from the dignity of the profession.b. They shall refrain from any act which might bring the profession into

7、 disrepute.Article 5For any professional purpose, members may publicize the fact that they areconference interpreters and members of the Association, either as individuals or as part of any grouping or region to which they belong.Article 6a. It shall be the duty of members of the Association to affo

8、rd their colleahues moral assistance and collegiality.b. Members shall refrain from any utterance or action prejudicial to the interestsof the Association or its members. Any complaint arising out of the conduct of any othet member or any disgreement regarding any decision taken by the Association s

9、hall be pursued and settled within the Association itself.c. Any problem pertaining to the profession with arises between two or moremembers of the Association, including candidates, may be referred to the Council for arbitration.III. Working ConditionsArticle 7With a view to ensuring the best quali

10、ty interpretation, members of the Association:a. Shall endeavour always to secure satisfactory conditions of sound, visibilityand comfort, having particular regard to the Professional Standards as adopted by the Association as well as any technical standards drawn up or approved by it;b. shall not,

11、as a general rule, when interpreting simultaneously in a booth, work either alone or without the availability of a colleague to relieve them should the need arise;c. shall try to ensues that teams of conference interpreters are formed in such a way as to avoid the systematic use of relay;d. shall no

12、t agree to underatake either simultaneous interpretation without a booth or whispered interpretation unless the circumstances are exceptional and the quality of interpretation work is not thereby impaired;e. shall require a direct view of the speaker and the conference room. They will thus refuse to

13、 accept the use of television monitors instead of this direct view, except in the case of videoconferences;f. shall require that working documents and textx to be read out at the conference be sent to them in advance;g. shall request a briefing session whenever appropriate;h. shall not perform any o

14、ther duties except that of conference interprteer at confenrences for which they have been taken on as interpreters.Article 8Members of the Association shall neither accept nor, a fortiori, offer for themselves or for other conference interpreters recruited through them, be they members of the Assoc

15、iation or not, any working conditions contrary to those laid down in this Code or in the Professional Standards.IV. Amendment ProcedureArticle 9This Code may be modified by a decision of the Assemly taken with a two-thirds majority of votes cast, provided a legal opinion has been sought on the propo

16、sals.一、目的和范围第一条1. 本职业道德准则(以下简称准则)规定了诚信、专业和保密的标准,所有会员均有义务在其为会议口译员的工作中遵循这些标准。2. 候选会员也应承诺遵守本准则的规定。3. 按照纪律程序条例,理事会将对任何违反本准则所界定的职业规则的行为予以惩罚。二、荣誉准则第二条1. 会员应受严格的保密准则约束。在任何不向公众开放的会议中,所有人员均需对口译过程中披露的所有信息严格保密。2. 严禁会员利用会议口译员的职务之便,用可能获取的机密牟取任何私利。第三条1. 会员不得接受任何本人难以胜任的任务。接受任务意味着会员在道义上承诺将以应有的专业水准工作。2. 任何会员在招募其它会议口译员时,无论后者是否为
