6、的文化知识,当你理解了文化背景,你就能更好地运用语言。)二、流行英文1.coolCool一词来自美国,风靡世界,到了中国按其音译就成了“酷”。Cool的本意是:凉快的(物理上的),凉爽的(感觉上的),冷静的(褒义词),无耻的(贬义词),冷淡的或暗示得意的强调语气用词。作为流行词汇,它代表着时尚前卫的衣着、举止、形象、生活方式.使用上,常常和某些字结合,比如:真cool,粉cool,太cool了等等。2.ohyeahYeah就是yes的意思,它最初在英语世界流行与Beatles乐队有关。1963年Beatles的一曲sheloveyou中一连串yeah,yeah,yeah的反复叫喊,使其成了流行
7、一时的词汇,频繁出现在报刊头条。而oh与yeah连用,可表示强烈的兴奋激动之情3.Ok,O了OK,okay,或者O.K.是英语中常用的口语词汇。它可以表达approval,assent或者acknowledgment的意思。TheoriginsofOKarenotknownwithcertainty,andhavebeenthesubjectofmuchdiscussionandacademicinterestovertheyears.Asaninterjection,ithasbeenborrowedfromEnglishintomanyotherlanguages.关于Ok一词的起源一直没
8、有定论,这也成为学术界多年来为之热议的话题。作为一个感叹词,ok这个英文词汇已经成为世界性的用语。在中国,不仅ok的使用频率极高,由ok转化而来的“O了”一说,简洁有趣,动感十足,在年轻人中十分流行。说到ok,不禁联想起“卡拉OK”。“卡拉OK”不是源语英语,而是日语Karaoke的音译。另一个经常用到的词汇KTV则是KaraokeTelevision的缩写。现在我们还常常用到“K歌”这个词,K取Karaoke的首字母,表达去唱歌的意思,真是简洁时尚。4. .+inging在英语中是动词的一种后缀,是现在进行时态(be + doing)动词的一种分词形式,常常表示正在干什么,正处于某种状态。如
9、今,许多人喜欢拿它作中文后缀,来表示自己正在做什么或自己的情感。比如:瞌睡ing,郁闷ing等等。其他暂且能想到的流行说法还有:shopping,N多,最in,真high,Mail我,Q我,Call我,MSN我。三、最有魔力的一句英文In a class I teach for adults, I recently did the “unpardonable.”I gave the class homework!The assignment was to “go to someone you love within the next week and tell them you love th
