1、双重介词 双重介词就是指两个介词连着使用，表示一个更加复杂的意思。常用的有： from among （从当中），from behind（从后面），until after （直至之后），at about（在大约左右）。after about （在大约之后），from under （从的底下）等。1 . from + 介词短语。“from +介词短语”是 介词+介词短语”结构中最常见的一个，其后可接的另一个介词 短语至少有十个以上。The old man looked at me from above his glasses .He said hello to me from across the
2、 room .The little boy came out from behind the door .They came from beyond the sea .He heard the shouting from somewhere down the corridor .Take the kettle from off the stove .We heard voices from over the fence .The snake crawled out from under the table .2 . except + 介词短语。except 后常接介词 at , by , fr
3、om , in , on , to 等引导的短语。I never saw Mr White except at parties .You could never have lost your way , except by your own carelessness .I take no orders , except from the king .I can take my holidays at any time , except in August .No admittance , except on business .We went nowhere , except to schoo
4、l .3 . till / until + 介词短语。till / until 后总是接介词 after 引导的短语。I stayed till after ten oclock .It was not till after midnight that my visit came to an end .特例分析： from across; across fromfrom across是双重介词，意为从那边。如：He came from across the streets 从街道那边走来。Can you swim from across the English Channel你能从英吉利海峡游
5、过来吗？across from亦为双重介词，意为在的对面;在对侧。如：The Agriculture Bank of China is just across from our school.中国农业银行就在我们学校 对面。-Is the No. 1 Middle School far away from herei中离这里远吗？ -No, it is just across from the post office不远，就在邮局对过。十二、双重介词双重介词是两个介词的重叠使用，表达两个介词共有的更精确更明了的含义，从表达意义 的角度分析，双重介词用在一个介词难以全面表达含义的场合，或者是需要
6、从两个角度来 描述其具体意义的场合，一般地，前一个介词意义含糊，后一个介词比较具体或从另一个 角度对前者进行补充完善。e.g. New shoots will come up from round roots新 芽从旧根周围长出。（ from 和 round 同属地点位置范畴，但一个介词均不足以全面表意。 ）He won t come back until after suns到太阳落山之后他才回来。（ until 与 after 同属时间范畴。）He has traveled everywhere except in Japan. Water began to flow out instead of into the bottle.1
