1、Un it 10Yo ure supposed to shake hands单元语法小专题(Grammar Focus)语法精讲#be supposed to 的用法1. be supposed to意为应该、理应、被期望”,多用来表示劝告、建议、义务、责任等,相当于should。 be supposed to的时态、人称和数等的变化都在be动词上体现,其中的 to是动词不定式符号,后面接动词 原形。如:Pare nts are supposed to ask their childre n toknow some good manners. 父母应该让孩子们知道一些好的礼仪。Youre su

2、pposed to start work at 8: 30 everymorning.你应该每天早晨8点半开始工作。2. be supposed to 的否定形式是 be not supposed to ,相当于 should not 或 be not allowed to ,意为不 应该,不准、不得”。如:We are not supposed to play football in thestreet.我们不应该在街上踢足球。3. be supposed to的一般疑问句是将 be的相应形式置于主语前,特殊疑问句是在一般疑问句前加上相应的疑问词。如:Is she supposed to a

3、rrive at the train station at three oclock in the afternoon?她应该在下午三点钟到火车站吗?4. be supposed to have done sth.表示本应该做某事但没做”。如:Hes supposed to have finishedthe work so far.到目前为止,他本应该完成这项工作。Youre supposed to have handed in your homework.你本该把作业交上来了。5 .如果表达“过去某时应该(不应该)做”时,用was(wasnt)/were(werent)supposedto

4、,相当于should(should nt) have+动词的过去分词。如:I was supposed to finish the task at 4: 30,but I finished it at 5: 00.我应该在四点半完成任务,却在五点钟才完成。【拓展】(1)suppose作动词有“猜想”的意思, suppose sb.to do sth.意为“猜想某人去做某事”。如:I supposed him to stay at home.我猜他待在家里。(2) suppose后面也可接that从句。当主句的主语 是第一人称I或we,且主句谓语是一般现在时态时, 从句的否定要转移到主句上。如:

5、I dont suppose they will say sorry to her. 我猜想他们不会对她说对不起。(3) suppose 可用于简略答语中,用 so代替一个 肯定的宾语从句;用 not代替一个否定的宾语从句。 如:Do you suppose hell fail to catch the train? 你认为他会错过火车吗?I suppose so./I suppose no t.(= I dontsuppose so.)我想会的。/我想不会。语法精练I.用suppose的适当形式填空。1.
