Analysis of the Teaching Material (Status and Function) “France is calling” is a newspaper article about travel in order to attract tourists to visit France for their summer holidays. Its a wonderful time for them to learn at

2、 this time. Meanwhile the Ss will learn another article on travel in 9B Chapter2. “Educational visits” Its the basic of the next part in the whole system of Oxford English. So I think this lesson is quite important. Ill deal with this article as a reading. 2. Analysis of the studentsFor the Ss in Gr

3、ade8, they do know something about France such the food, perfume, brandy, film festival and so on. And Im sure the Ss must be interested in this kind of article. As we all know there are different ways to get information about France. So this will do good to this lesson. Meanwhile, the Ss have learn

4、ed enough vocabularies to read the newspaper article. But for the students the passage seems a bit longer. So they must have some difficulties in grasping the main idea.3. Teaching Aims Knowledge Objects (1)The Ss will have some general ideas about France by communicating and discussing, such as the

5、 agriculture, the transportation, the art and so on, especially spread their wings to get to know foreign culture.(2)The Ss will learn some words and phrases through enjoying the beautiful courseware. Such as now that, in addition, be excellent for, be familiar to, enable sb. to do, remind sb. of st

6、h., one of the most Ability Objects(1)The Ss will improve their reading ability and skill step by step.(2)They will continue developing the communicative ability as usual and cooperating awareness as well during the process of roll play and shopping.(3)I think they can also have a good chance to cre

7、ate and imagine. Moral Objects According to this lesson, the Ss will feel and appreciate the beauty of France and it is able to arouse the Ss love for our homeland as well with the teachers help.4. Teaching Key Points and Difficult PointsKey Points: (1)To help the students to understand the whole ar

(2)The grasp of the key words and phrases such as now that, in addition, be excellent for, be familiar to, enable sb. to do, remind sb. of sth., one of the mostDifficult Points: (1)Help the Ss understand the whole article. This passage is not short for them to understand, so grasping the main

9、 idea is the most important in the first lesson the article. (2)The pronunciation of some words Its difficult for them to read some words correctly such as the Loire Valley, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Dior, Chanel, Cartier, Channel.5. Teaching StrategiesI will lead the Ss to use self-help co

10、operative learning strategy to explore and scenarios to create strategic. They will set up groups in order to study better and the Ss can take an active part in the tasks designed by me such as shopping and roll-play. Im sure there will be harmonious atmosphere for them to study.6. Teaching Procedur

11、e& Blackboard DesigningThere are 8 steps in all. Now let me start from Step1.Step1. Warm-up At the beginning of this lesson, the Ss will listen to a beautiful French song, and I will ask the Ss the following questions “Do you like this song? Which country is it from? Which country does the Eiffel To

12、wer belong to? And then show the answer “France”. In this way, we come to this lesson easily. Step2. Presentation Ill arrange this part like this:(1)First of all, Ill ask the Ss some questions, for example, Which one of these is the French flag? And so on. Ill encourage the Ss to give their answers

13、in English. (2)After that, Ill play the tape and get the Ss to listen to the passage and find out the facts according to the passage. In this part Ill deal with the article in a new way-that is putting p2&6 together. Then check the answers. (3)Then get the Ss to read the passage quickly to describe

14、the position of France. And then Ill show them the map on the computer.Step3. Role play In order to consolidate the article, III ask the Ss to act as a guide or visitors. Theyre encouraged to use the expressions theyve learned before lesson.Step4. Presentation The following parts are all the influen

15、ces of France, so Ill put them together when I present them. They are French food, French top designers, French art and culture. With the help of some real objects and enough pictures, I want to give the Ss visual feeling. This will do good to the understanding of France. Step5. Shopping After watch

16、ing for a long time, Ill provide another chance of using English in real condition. The Ss can revise the shopping terms as well. And I also have the aim of improving the ability of communicating and cooperating with others.Step6. Consolidation In this part, Ill get the Ss to fill in the blanks according to this article. I suppose its helpful to help th
