To get the students to know how to protect oneself and helpothers in earthquakes.3). To get the students to be aware of t

It lays emphasis onreading and understanding.In order to stimulate students learning enthusiasm, I uses

6、ome flashes,pictures and words to lead them in: first I usedPPT to show students a cartoon figure called“ Mr. Natureshow some pictures of disasters to let students recognize them,thus can develop studentsinterest in learning by adding ahuman element to the natural world. Ask students whethertheyhave

7、experiencedanearthquaketoimprovetheir”understanding of the causes of earthquakes. let the students discuss the warning signs before an earthquake and enable them to realize these strange signs in order to get ready to avoid unnecessary losses. Finally let the students look at the title A NIGHT THE E

8、ARTH DIDN T SLEEP and understand the meaning of it.In the part of fast-reading, I list some new words in this unit and paraphrase them in English to improve the thinking ability of the students. Then skim the passage and answer a few questions which are not very difficult to them to arouse their int

9、erest in learning .While reading intensively, I make the students listen to thetape inthe process ofreadingso as to achieve theunity oflisteningand reading. Intensivereadingis dividedinto threeparts: true or false,fill in the forms and retell the passage. Trueor false examines students understanding

10、 of the article. Fill inthe forms is a supplement to the rightand wrong. Retell thepassage requests the students to combine with what they wrotein the form, thus can improve students oral English,. MeanwhileI play the part of the movie of TangShan Earthquake directed byFeng Xiaogang to make the stud

11、ents feel the havoc of theearthquakes and deepen the understanding ofthecontent toarouse students interest in the text.The part of post reading was basedon the comprehensionof the passage. Students can not only improvetheirability ofcommunication,butalsogainknowledgeofprotectingthemselves fromvariou
