4、gasinahumanfamily.NobodybeforeJanefullyunderstoodchimpbehaviour.Shespentyearsobservingandrecordingtheirdailyactivities.Sinceherchildhoodshehadwantedtoworkwithanimalsintheirownenvironment.However,thiswasnoteasy.WhenshefirstarrivedinGombein1960,itwasunusualforawomantoliveintheforest.Onlyafterhermother

10、syinherchosencareer,travelingabroadtostudyaswellaswritingbooksandarticlesO.neofthemcaughtmyeye.Iwasasmallbookexplaininghowtocutthedeathratefromhavingandcaringforbabies.Shegavesomesimplerulestofollowforkeepingbabiesclean,healthyandfreefromsickness.Whydidshewritethat?WhowerethewomenthatLinQiaozhithoug
11、htneededthisadvice？Ilookedcarefullyatthetextandrealizedthatitwasintendedforwomeninthecountryside.Perhapsiftheyhadanemergencytheycouldnotreachadoctor.Suddenlyithitmehowdifficultitwasforawomantogetmedicaltrainingatthattime.ThatwasagenerationwhengirlseducationwasalwaysplacedsecoWndastoshbeosyos.muchcle
12、vererthananyoneelse?Furtherreadingmademerealizethatitwashardworkanddeterminationaswellashergentlenaturethatgotherintomedicalschool.WhatmadehersucceedlateronwasthekindnessandconsiderationsheshowedtoallherpatientsT.herewasstoryafterstoryofhowLinQiaozhi,tiredafteradayswork,wentlateatnighttodelivbabyfor
