Today, Id like to introduce an amazing television series -Downton Abbey, which has won many prices in its entire broadcast including a Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries mni:sri:z or Television Film and a Emmy Award for Outstanding
2、Miniseries.！-1The series, set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate isteit of Downton Abbey, describe the lives of the Crawley family and their servants after the post-Edwardian era with the great events in history having an effect on their lives and the British social hierarchy hair:ki in gener
3、al. Such events described throughout the whole series include the news of the sinking of the Titanic in the first series; the outbreaks of World War I, the Spanish influenza nflu:enz, and the formation of the Irish Republic in the third series.！-2Now, I want to introduce some details about this seri
4、es. Royal and noble ranks: The aristocracy ,ristkrsi are people considered to be in the highest social class in a society which has or once had a political system of aristocracy ,ristkrsi. And the others are merchants m:tnt / craftsmen/ peasants/ freemen. And the Crawley family is of course belongin
5、g to the nobles. !-3What impress me most is the characters in the play. Dowager Countess of Grantham, do you remember this old lady? Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter! In this television series, she seems to nail her roles every time, and her acting in Downton is no exception. The mother of Rober
6、t, Earl of Grantham, Violet is proud, loyal to her son. This man is Robert, Earl of Grantham. And this is his wife, Cora, Countess of Grantham. I really like McGovern as Cora - she is beautiful and graceful, but also brave and levelheaded. The Countess of Grantham is a lone American among the Britis
7、h, which I love! Her costumes are downright gorgeous.Lady Mary Crawley, The Oldest DaughterMichelle Dockery米歇尔多克里plays the eldest and coldest daughter of Cora and Robert.her parents desire for her to marry Matthew in order to keep Downton in the Crawley family is just one focal point in Downton Abbe
8、y.And this is Lady Edith Crawley, The Second DaughterLady Sybil Crawley, The Youngest DaughterSybil is probably my favorite of the Crawley daughters, she is the only daughter who seems to be even slightly interested in something other than herself. Her befriending of the maid Gwen makes me smile! :)
9、 She is the most visionary vneri: and forward-thinking of the three daughters. Matthew CrawleyHe is a third cousin, once removed, of Lord Grantham. I think hes so handsome and with a good personality. He and Lady Mary dont like each other at the first time, just like Pride and Prejudice , but they a
10、re really a perfect couple in this story. Anna, Head HousemaidAnna is a very kind character who is always there to lend a helping hand to her friends. She seems content with her life, but is in love with a fellow member of the Downton staff, who will not let himself become involved in a relationship
11、John Bates, Lord Granthams manservant. As the time is limited, I only introduce some of the Actors. And then I find some more details about the TV series. The aristocracy ,ristkrsis favourite social activities are dinner party and hunting. The aim to held the party is not just eating and drinking, b
12、ut to improve social relationship. And then Id like to introduce some Victorian style costumes, which are from 1837 to 1901, during the reign of Queen. The era ir of womens clothing is characterized kriktraiz by extensive use of the lace, spinning, ribbons, bows, multi-layered cake cutting, wrinkle,
13、 and other elements, and the collar, princess sleeves, leg of mutton sleeves and other court style. In the conservative Victorian era, the need for pure culture, women must put their tightly wrapped.tail coat teil kutOver the years tail coats of varying types have evolved into forms of formal dress for both day and evening wear. Thats my introduce about Downton Abbey .Thank you.
