With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.Education backgroundIn 1995, I entered the Nanjing
2、University of Science Technology (NUST) - widely considered one of the Chinas best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I got the privilege to enter th
3、e graduate program waived of the admission test.At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and o
4、nly candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.Research experience and academic activityWhen a sophomore, I joined the Associati
5、on of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis dispose pro
6、ject for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Sc

10、nts， I believe， the root of a spirit which has been essential to me and to all the people bred by the past 15 years。In my elementary years， there was a little girl in the class who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her lessons。The teacher asked me to help her， and it was
11、obvious that she expected a lot from me。 but as a young boy， restless， thoughtless， I always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself。One day before the final exam， she came up to me and said， Could you please explain this to me? I want very much to do better this time。 I started ex
12、plaining， and finished in a hurry。 Pretending not to notice her still confused eyes， I ran off quickly。 Nat surprisingly， she again did very badly in the exam。 And two months later， at the beginning of the new semester， word came of her death of blood cancer。 No one ever knew about the little task I
13、 failed to fulfill， but I couldnt five myself。 I simply couldnt fet her eyes， which seem to be asking， Why didnt you do a little more to help me， when it was so easy for you? Why didnt you understand a little better the trust placed in you， so that I would not he to lee this world in such pain and r
14、egret?I was about eight or nine years old at that time， but in a way it was the very starting point of my life， for I began to understand the word responsibility and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly， for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need a
15、nd trust of people， the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society。Later in my life， I continued to experience many failures。 But never again did I feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl， for it makes my heart satisfied to think that I he always
