2、 Section B 2b. To make my presentation clear, Ill present my teaching plan from six parts. .I. Analysis of teaching materialThe topic of Unit 5 is about unforgettable events. The passage of 2b isabout two important events in American history and what common peoplewere doing at the time of important
3、events. Students may be not familiar with1the two events, so Ill provide some background knowledge when neccesary to arouse students learning interests.II. Analysis of the studentsStudents in Grade 8 have learned present progressive since they were inGrade 7. And they can communicate with others in
4、English, using the simplewords and expressions. So its not difficult for them to learn past progressive. III. Teaching objectivesAccording to the teaching material and the students in Grade 8, I designed three objectives:1.The knowledge objectives：By the end of this lesson, students can know about t
5、he information of Dr,Martin Luther King and the September 11 attack. And they can master theimportant words and expressions, such as pupil, completely, silence, take down, date, tower and so on.2. The ability objectives:(1). To train students reading ability:a. Students can predict “What is the pass
6、age about?” with the help of the title and the pictures.b. Students can retell the main idea of each part after answering questions.C.Students develop the ability of fast reading, intensive reading, looking forinformation, getting the main ideas, catching the key words and making use of information
