1、Reading Report 2-The Secret Life of Walter Mitty(by James Thurber)When it comes to real life, it is indisputable that there are some differences between the reality and the ideal, when we cant get what we want, especially when we cant be what we what to be, there is an useful way that we can fulfill
2、 our goals, its daydreaming which has its reverse or counterforce. In this passage, the author tells us a man called Walter Mitty who is always daydreaming. On my point of views, Walter Mitty was an imaginative person even though he often daydreamed, but as for me. I couldnt think of such kinds of d
3、aydreams, he imagined himself as a commander, professional doctor, famous crack shot, he even imagined him as a man who must face the firing squad before he died. I think there are something the same to the reality. In the real world, he couldnt get what he want, but in his daydreams, he can be an i
4、mportant man who can get respect and admiration from others, especially from his wife, and he is decisive, confident, proud, complacent in his daydreams when compared with the real world. Even though he couldnt be the VIP in the daily life, but I think he just used the wrong way and pretended to ful
5、fill his goals, which means he couldnt realize anything. Furthermore, in my opinion, the title named “the secret life of Walter Mitty tells us that maybe there is no people can understand what he wants and I think he didnt intend to tell all of these to anybody, because they may treat him as an odd.
6、 Sometimes, I like daydreaming, I may imagine me as the protagonist in a novel, perform in a big stage and every audience admires me very much, or become a famous person and have many fans. After a long time, I can get some things that I want, like having many opportunities to stand in the middle of the stage, and dance with my partners. I know action is an important way of success. So I always try my best to fulfill my dreams whenever and wherever. In the belief that when there is a will, there is a way.
