4、technology and a variety of capacities with the manner of self-financing, technical investment and seeking cooperation to innovate, explore opportunities and produce value continually in a limited environment.2 The Investigation of University Students UndertakingFrom the investigation of National Hi
5、gher Education Student Information Center for advice and career guidance, there are 6,100,000 college graduates in 2021, 2,000,000 college students that are unemployed in 2021 and 2007, and 800,000 that are unemployed due to the downturn in the economy, a total of nearly 9,000,000. However, there ar
6、e only 3000,000 jobs provided for the students. The contradiction between supply and demand is evident. The employment situation is very serious to college students.Under such circumstances, many students chose to start an undertaking. There are 25.93% of them having a strong will of starting an und
7、ertaking, 53.02% of them having had a will. This reflects college students have a general willingness to start an undertaking.3 The Advantages and Opportunities of University Students Undertaking1University students are more perceptive;2They have Self-learning ability;3They accept new things quickly
8、, even are leaders of trend;4They have active thinking;6They are more self-confidence, own passion to do things;7They are young and energetic;8They have no burden on their families, and their families may be more support;9The Government has implemented a number of preferential policies for universit
9、y students undertaking.4 The Weaknesses and Threats of University Students Undertaking1They have less social experience, especially the relationships and business network;2They are short of venture projects that have genuine commercial prospects, many entrepreneurial ideas can not stand the test of
10、market;3They like engage in idle theorizing(纸上谈兵), and their market projections are too optimistic;4They have great ambition but puny ability(眼高手低), reach for what is beyond their grasp好高骛远;5They havent completely formed an independent personality, and are short of responsibility;6They have poor men
11、tal affordability, and are easy to give up when meet setbacks;7They are short of funds;8Market competition is hotting up.5 Countermeasures and Suggestions5.1 SWOT AnalysisThrough the analysis we can see that contemporary university students undertaking have their own advantages and disadvantages, bu
12、t they are also faced with good opportunities and challenges. SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis provides four strategies for them. That is S-O strategy, W-O strategy, S-T strategy and W-T strategy.First of all, college students write down their strengths, weaknesses, d
13、evelopment opportunities and challenges (threats).For example, student A think his advantages are: his parents are in business, and he is unconsciously influenced by his parents from an early age; he is very interest in starting an undertaking; after several years of work-study program he also accum
14、ulate some practical experience; he has started an undertaking for some time together with several friends; the products are unique and competitive in the marketplace. Students B think his disadvantages are: he is withdrawn and it is difficult for him to deal with people; he doesnt have financial su
15、pport and a team; he has less social experience.Student C thinks the opportunities that she is faced with are: the start-up funds for college students have been established and their projects can be declared; domestic market needs are great; some companies are negotiating with them and some of them
16、can sign a contract; government policies encourage recycling economy, which is good news for their project.Student D thinks the challenges are: the market competition has lack of standardization, and the fake and shoddy goods are prevalent, so their good goods cant be sold out; the rents keep on rising, and their profits are lower and lower; con
