1、Module 3 Body Language and Non-verbal CommunicationI. 教学内容分析本模块以Body Language and Non-verbal Communication为话题，介绍了不同文化中身势语和非言语交际的情况，旨在通过本模块的教学使学生能够在交际场合运用所学词汇及采用恰当的身势语。通过本模块的学习，学生要对不同文化中的身势语有清楚的了解，并能运用所学知识与不同文化中的人进行交流。Introduction部分引入了各种身体动作或姿态的图片与有关的词汇导入话题；通过在交际场合人们所用的部分语汇和可能采用的身势语引发学生兴趣，为接下来的阅读学习活动
2、做好了准备。Reading and Vocabulary部分通过阅读课文，让学生简单了解不同文化中身势语的运用情况，并且学习相关词汇，学会归纳文章的主旨大意；并且围绕课文内容，进行相关的听、说、读、写训练。Grammar 1部分通过观察课文中的例句，要求学生懂得条件状语从句的特点，并通过练习得以巩固。Listening and Vocabulary部分听取一段有关到美国家庭作客的礼仪录音，同时也引入了相关词汇，此话题与本模块内容密切相关，借此培养学生准确获取听力信息的能力，同时也培养学生跨文化交际的能力。Function部分通过学习使用交际功能“提出建议”(giving advice) 的语句
3、，让学生学会运用should 和 must 及 shouldnt 和mustnt 来向对方提出建议。Grammar 2 部分列举了条件状语从句的例子并以问题的形式让学生进一步了解条件状语从句，并通过Activity 2 对此句型中谓语动词的形式进行了练习。Pronunciation部分通过听力训练使学生了解美国英语和英国英语在发音方面的某些区别。Speaking部分是阅读文章后所展开的对话形式，使学生学会运用should, shouldnt , must, mustnt 及以if开头的句型。Grammar 3部分以练习的形式帮助学生了解让步状语从句的意义，并通过Activity 2的练习进行巩
4、固。Writing 部分通过设置几个问题，要求学生能够辨别正式文体与非正式文体的请柬，并能用相应的文体回复。Everyday English 部分围绕日常生活中常见的交际用语，主要通过情景交际来理解句子的意思。Cultural Corner 部分是一篇介绍鼓掌的起源及作用的文章，让学生通过阅读增进对非言语交际知识的了解。Task部分是对本模块的一个复习与应用，要求学生运用本模块所学的提出建议的方法，为访问中国的外国人提出一些关于在中国应该注意的衣、食、住、行方面的建议。Module File部分有助于学生对本模块学习内容进行总结归纳，使学生对自己的学习内容进行检验。II. 教学重点和难点 1、
5、教学重点(1) 掌握与身势语有关的词汇；(2) 了解身势语及非言语交际的文化习俗；(3) 学习条件和让步状语从句。2、教学难点(1) 能识别对话和语段中新学词汇、短语并正确理解其意义；(2) 正确理解和运用条件及让步状语从句；(3) 在交际场合采用正确的身势语。III. 教学计划 本模块分五个课时： 第一课时 Introduction, Listening and Vocabulary, Everyday English, Function 第二课时 Reading and Vocabulary 第三课时 Grammar 1, Grammar 2, Grammar 3, Speaking 第四

Ask Ss to match the verbs in the box with the pictures in Activity 1 on page 21.3. Ask Ss to listen to the t
8、ape and match the situations with the pictures in Activity 2 on page 21.4. Ask Ss to discuss the situations in Activity 3 on page 21.Step 2. Listening and Vocabulary 1、Pre-Listening (1) Point out the parts of the body and ask Ss to try to name them, and then check their answers.Related words: limb,
9、palm, elbow, fist, thumb, arm, tongue, cheek, neck, waist, spine, stomach, lap, lips, ankle, chest, eyebrow, finger, forehead, knee, shoulder, wrist. (2) Ask Ss to do exercises in Activity 2 on page 24. 2. While-Listening (1) Ask Ss to listen to a conversation and finish Activity 3 on page 25.(2) Li
10、sten again and finish Activity 4 on page 25 3. Post-Listening Ask Ss do role-play in pairs: One is an American, the other is a Chinese student who is going to the US. Then ask each pair to make a dialogue in which an American gives some advice. Step 3. Everyday English Ask Ss to understand what the
11、phrases in Everyday English mean. Then ask them to think out what situations the phrases can be used in.Step 4. Function1. Ask Ss to do exercises in Activity 1 and 2 on page 25 and try to understand the usage of “should” and “must”. should的用法：(1)表示应该做的事，含有“建议，劝告”的语气。如：Ill start the work tomorrow.我明天
12、开始这项工作。 I think you should start at once.我想你应当立刻开始。(2)表示推测，意为“想必一定，估计”。如：Mr Black should be home by now.布莱克先生估计到家了。(3) shouldnt表不应该做某事。如：You shouldnt feel so unhappy over such trifles.对这种小事，你不应该感到不高兴。 You shouldnt be sitting in the sun.你不应该坐在阳光下。must的用法(1)表必须要做的事，指义务或坚定的建议。如：You must talk to your da
