1、Jachants英语节奏训练教程文本篇This manuscript was revised by the office on December 22, 2012Jazz chants本教材是美国原版教材,国内很早就有引进,是上海外语音像出版社传播 的英语节奏训练教程,是Jazz Chants教学法。简单介绍一下:Jazz Chants是一种通过节奏来表达语言的方法,它把有 节奏的美式英语口语与美国传统的爵士乐节奏联系起来,是一种自然语言的再 现。Jazz Chants所表现的不是一种夸大了的韵文效果,而更像节奏强烈的对 话、诗歌。其节奏、重音、语调和我们平时听到美国人在生活中对话时的节 奏、

2、重音和语调是一模一样的。典型的Jazz Chants有以下特点:1)体现自 然英语口语的节奏是Jazz Chants成功的关键。Jazz Chants的节拍揭示了 美式英语和传统的美国爵士乐节奏的内在关联。(Graham, 1998) “Jazz Chants的节奏大大地帮助了记忆” (Hara, 2003),强烈的节奏和富有趣味的 对话让学生们轻而易举地就把一首chant记住了,再加上音乐、动作和角色扮 演等其他辅助教学手段,教学效果就能事半功倍了。2) Jazz Chants能激起 学生的兴趣,让学生全身心的投入学习。学生随着chant的节奏朗读、对话、 吟唱、打节拍和做各种动作,因此可以

3、说Jazz Chants和音乐、歌曲一起让学 生愉快的学习英语。在纽约大学教授二年级学生时,Graham教授还让学生自己 撰写chants,从而创造出一个既轻松乂有意思的学习环境,让他们在这样的氛 围里学习和使用英语。3)Jazz Chants是有意义的语言交际活动。表面上看, Jazz Chants在某种程度上有些像传统的听说法的句型操练,然而它却没有机 械性语言操练的先天不足。Jazz Chants是有意义的、有趣味的交际性对话, 它所使用的语言是真实的、实用的。4) Jazz Chants是互动性的。尽管Jazz Chants这一教学模式有着大量的重复练习,但这种重复练习始终存在于两人或

4、 多人的相互应答之中。Chants一般都可以以听和练开始,以角色扮演这样的活 动结束。整个学习过程不是那种枯燥的重复操练和死记硬背的过程,而是一种 自然的交流互动的过程。5)除了语音语调的训练,Jazz Chants还可以用于 语言教学的其他方面,如语法、词汇、习惯用语、语言功能,以及美国文化的学习。6) Jazz Chants可适用于各种程度的学生。Richard-Amato (1996)指 出,尽管Jazz Chants主要是针对初学者的,但中级乃至高级程度的学生也能 通过它训练语音并学到很多实用的美国英语的习惯用法、语言幽默,以及恰到 好处的表达法等等许多东西。1. .Babys sle
