The names of sports that end in -ing are verbs and use the verb to go with them (for example, to go swimming). But you can also use the verb without the -ing (to swim). The rest of the sports are nouns, so you must use the verb to play with them (to play soccer).
Put the sports in the correct boxes:
to go VERB+ing / to VERB
to play NOUN
to go swimming / to swim; to go bowling / to bowl
to play soccer; to play football
