由此可见， 系统功能语言学对翻译实践的指导作用是不言而喻的翻译理论家莫娜·贝克在 1992 年出版的《换言之：翻译教程》当中，从系统功能语法的主位结构和信息结构等概念以及词汇连贯的所指、替代、省略、连接和词汇衔接五个黏着机制论述了如何实现篇章层面的语篇对等 《白鲸》被众多文学评论家推崇为美国作家赫尔曼·麦尔维尔的巅峰之作小说描写了亚哈船长为复仇，追逐并杀死白鲸莫比·迪克，最终与白鲸同归于尽的故事作者在小说中运用了十九世纪时期最广泛使用的象征与讽刺的写作手法，充分利用历史典故为我们展现了十九世纪资本主义蓬勃发展的捕鲸业，深刻反映出十九世纪捕鲸业的残酷以及当时的时代特征论文选取系统功能语言学三大功能中的语篇功能作为理论框架，对来自曹庸与姬旭升的两个《白鲸》中译本作为语料进行分析，探讨译本与原文的语篇对等的实现，并尝试找出译者如何选择翻译策略来实现原文与译文的语篇功能对等，如何重构和还原原文中的思想两个中译本在翻译策略与技巧上的选择大相庭径，曹庸的译本追求对原著的忠实，而姬旭升的译本则认为译者在译本中也应当体现出来因此在不同的翻译策略指导下，两个中译本风格迥异，形成了鲜明的对比在语篇功能的理论框架下，语篇分析不仅有助于读者更好更快地理解原文的主旨思想，也有助于译者对原文 的理解，帮助译者传递原文信息。

Generally speaking, translation is also an act of verbal communication. By this token, Systemic Functional Grammar’s guidance for translation is quite self-evident. In 1992, British translation theorist Mona Baker discusses that how to achieve translation equivalence at textual level on the basis of some terms in Systemic Functional Grammar, such as thematic structure and cohesion, etc. in her book named In Other Words: A Coursebook of Translation. Moby Dick, which is written by American writer Herman Melville, has been highly praised by numerous literary critics as the greatest novel ever among his works. This novel depicts a story that the captain Ahab takes revenge on a white whale Moby Dick for it has broken his leg; the captain keeps hunting down the whale and perishes together with it in the end. Melville by and large applies two widely-used writing skills of literary work in the 19th century in the novel, and they are symbolism and irony respectively. He makes full use of historical allusions to demonstrate the whaling industry of the capitalism in the 19th century. Therefore, Moby Dick is able to well reflect the extreme cruelty within the whaling industry and the characteristics of the era back then. This thesis selects two Chinese translation versions from Cao Yong and Ji Xusheng as corpus to compare these two versions with the source language text from the perspectives of textual metafunction in Systemic Functional Grammar, aiming to discuss the achievement of textual equivalence in two Chinese versions and analyze the translation methods and techniques that each translator chooses in order to restore the original thoughts on the basis of textual equivalence.
