John Steinbeck(1902-1968)Life Experiences•John Steinbeck was one of the significant Depression writers.•He was born in Salinas, California in 1902.•His father was a government official and his mother was a school teacher who shared Steinbeck’s passion of reading and writing. •He lived in a small rural town and he often spent his summers working on nearby ranches.
