Unit 8 How do you make a banana milk shake? 特克斯县初级中学王双燕一.Teaching aims(教学目标)According to the teaching material and the new curriculum of English, I hope the following aims can be achieved in this lesson.a Knowledge goals(知识目标)1) By the end of the class, students should master the key words and phrases of this lesson: peel, cut up, put…in, pour…into, turn on and so on.2) Students should master the target language: --How do you make a banana milk shake? --First,… Next,… Next,…Next,… Then,… Finally,…b Ability goals(能力目标)1) To improve students’ ability of listening and speaking.2) To cultivate their ability of cooperating with others.c Moral goals(情感态度与价值观)(1) Make the students can be hard-working in the life.To eat more fruits and vegetables. To eat less junk food.(2) Stimulate their interest in learning English.二. Teaching importance (教学重点)The key point is how to let the students master the key words and key structures.三. Teaching difficulty(教学难点)As for difficult points, it is how to use the key words and key structures in the real situation四. Analysis of students(学情分析)The students have learned English in junior high school for about one year so far. They can understand some words, phrases and some simple sentences. But some of them lose interest in learning English, so when I design my class, I have to pay attention to make my class lively and interesting , and design more activities to attract their attention.五.Teaching methods(教法)To achieve the teaching aims above, I’ll mainly use “Teach English in English” teaching method, “Communicative” teaching method and “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I’ll let the students get a better understanding of the key structure. I’ll give the students some tasks and arrange six kinds of activities: watch a video, guessing games, group work and having a competition. 六. Learning methods(学法)As for learning methods, students will work in pairs and groups to do the cooperative learning, and learn target language by remember-drill-practice in the real situation.七. Teaching aids(教学工具)Video, PPT, music.八. Teaching doubtful point(教学疑点)The phrases and target language are easy for students. Maybe they can grasp them in spoken English. But I don’t know whether they can write the target language correctly. This will be checked in their homework. 九. Teaching steps(教学步骤)Step1. Warming up Play the music to the students. Dance with the students.Then watch a video about this class.Step2. Presentation Learn some new words and phrases (using pictures).Then learn the new phrases with the teacher. This activity helps students to review the new vocabularies.Step3. Guessing game According to the phases that they have learned, I’ll show some pictures to students one by one. Then invite them to say out the phrase correctly. This part shows the grammar focus: Imperative Sentence. And practice the phrase again and again.Improve students’ interest in learning the target language. According to the game, the students can remember the phrases deeply.Step4 Practice Show the target language in screen. Say out the steps with the whole class. This part shows the phrases once again to review the steps of making a banana milk shake.Step5 Listening practiceThis step gives some listening practice with the target language (the verb phrase and the steps of making a banana milk shake.)T: You will hear a conversation and put the instructions in order.Play the recording twice. For the first time, students focus on the phrase. On the second time, focus on the steps. Then check the answers.After that, show the pictures to the students, and let students look at the pictures and say out the steps of making a banana milk shake. This part practices the students’ listening and speaking skills.Step6 Group workShow some pictures to the students. Let them make a new conversation about another fruit milk shake. After a few minutes, invite different groups to act out their conversations. This activity improves the students’ writing and speaking skills.Step7 PK gameComplete the exercises in groups.(Divided the students into four groups, each group choose one fruit, after the fruit, there are some exercises. If this group will complete the exercises, they will get the marks. There is also surprise in them.) This part reviews the key points once again.Step8 SummaryToday we’ve learned some vocabularies of this lesson: peel, cut up, put…in, pour…into, turn on and so on. We’ve also learned the target language: -How do you make a banana milk shake? --First,… Next,… Next,…Next,… Then,… Finally,… Health is very important in our life. So we should eat more fruits and vegetables, and eat less junk food.Step9 Homework Make a banana milk shake for your parents.This activity makes students love the life and love their family.Step10 Blackboard design(板书设计) Let me show you my blackboard design。
