MyattentionwasfirstdirectedtoDTSbyitspeculiarcharact
4、eristicofobservation,descriptionandexplanation.Thesubjectiswhateverhappensintranslationpractice,fromthedeterminationofprospectivefunctionoftranslationtotheprocessoftranslatorschoiceofstrategies,brainstormingandtherevision,tothefinalproductmakingappearanceinthetargetmunity. ThemethodofDTSisbasicallyd
5、escriptive.Theprescriptivetendencyandtheproblem-solutionpatternisabandoned.Translationphenomenaarenoteddown.Withaccumulateddata,someunderlyingtruthsabouttranslationwilleoutwhichwillprovetobeinstructivenotonlyfortheoreticalprobebutalsoforappliedtranslationpractice.Iwillapplythisdescriptivemethodinthe

9、beforeIapplythesametothecasestudyinthisthesiswithemphasistobeplacedonsemioticapproachandtheconceptnorm. 2.3DTSincontrasttoothertheories AcontraststudywillbeconductedherewiththeobjectivetofindthedifferenceofDTSfromothertheoriessuchasequivalencetheoryandtheChineseXinDayxtVg.acriteria.Someadvantagewill
