1、 小学基本常识与主要句型英语是拼音文字共有 26 个字母 .英语是当今世界上 主要的国际通用语言之一.据不完全统计,世界上以英语为母语的人已超过 4 亿,差不多每 10 个人中就有一个讲英语.英国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰等国家的人都讲英语.。世界上约有 20 个国家把英语作为官方语言或第二语言使用,共计约有 8 亿人,也就是说,世界上差不多每5 个人中有一个人至少在一定程度懂英语。若加上世界各国的中小学生，学习英语的人就更多了。英语的使用范围非常广泛。世界上70%以上的邮件是用英文书写或用英文写地址的：全世界的广播节目中约有 60%是用英语进行广播的：国际上科技资料绝大部分是用英语发表
2、的：绝大部分的国际会议均以英语为第一通用语言，它也是联合国的正式工作语言之一。总之，在国际政治、军事、经济、科技、文化、贸易、交通运输等领域，英语都是一个重要的交际工具。大写字母基本用法规则：(1)句子开头的字母,包括完整的句子或不完整的句子、其开头的字母须大写。如：Good afternoon!(2)句子直接引语的开头字母须大写如：Simon says “ Touch your nose.”(3)人名或姓氏之前，表示亲属关系的词，其开头字母必须大写。如：Uncle Sam, Aunt Polly.4）表示人民、民族和语言的词、其开头字母必须大写。如：Chinese（中国人） ，English
3、（英国人） ，Canadian （加拿大人） ，American（美国人） 。(5) 位于姓名前的称呼、职称的首字母必须大写。如：Miss Gao, Prof. Zhang.(6) 信中称呼的开头字母须大写，信尾表示敬意的客套用语的开头字母须大写如Dear Mum, Love, Mary(7）人名、地名、国名、重要建筑物等常用名词的首字母必须大写。其中，人名中姓和名的首字母都要大写。如：李明Li Ming 吴一凡 Wu Yi fan(8)一周七天的名称、月份名称、节日名称等，其开头的字母必须大写。如：Sunday, Monday, May,Childrens day, Teachers Day
