2、.MyheartwouldhavejumpedoutofmychestifIhadnttriedmybesttocontrolmybreath.ThereasonliesinthefactthatIreallydidntknowwhattosayatthattime!Welltoday,beingateacherofEnglishforsomeyearsinShenzhen,Ihaveastrongsenseofresponsibility,whichalwaysfillsmewithstrengthandconfidence.IamfromXinzhouMiddleSchoollocated

3、inthewestpartofShenzhen.Therearetwoextremesinmyschool.About38%arefromlocalresidentfamilies,whoseparentsarerichandsomeevenrichenoughtoownseveralbuildings.Butsomeofthechildreninsuchfamiliesturnedouttobeslowintheirlessons.Theyseemtohaveeverythingbutthemotivationoflearning.However,About60%ofthestudentsa

4、refromworkingclassfamiliesinthevillagesnearby,whoseparentsholdtemporaryresidenceidentities.Sometimeswhenwevisitthesestudentsathomewenoticedthatalargeproportionoftheirlivingstandardsareverycritical.Somedontevenhavedesksgoodenoughtofinishtheirhomeworkon.Nowondertheyappearquitereluctanttopayenoughatten

5、tiontotheteachersinclasses,andalwaysfindexcusesnottofinishtheirhomework.Andaccordingtoassessmentcriteriathereare40%studentsstrugglingtogetapassintheEnglishlearning.Someevencannotmakeapropersentencebeforetheyaregoingtotakethematriculationexaminations.IstillrememberonceIsawmystudentingtoschoolwithonea

6、rmhangingonherneck.Whenaskedshejustsaidshewascarelesswhensherunacrossapond,felldownandbrokeherarm.ButlaterIgottoknowthatshefellfromtheplaceshesleepsonthetemporarysecondfloorathome,wherehalfofitisasmallshopinthevillage,whileshewasclimbingdowntheladder.Atthattimeshewasinahurrytogotoschool.Notuntilthen

8、arsofpracticingIgottoknowthreegoldenrulesinEnglishteachinginsuchkindofschools.RuleNo.1GettingtoknowwhatexactlyproblemsinourstudentslearningEnglishhaveandtryingbesttogivethemindividualinstructions;RuleNo.2Trybesttobuilduptheirconfidence,letthemhaveatasteofsuccess.MakethembelievethatEnglishisnotthatdi
