2、d in our daily life and the vocabularies and phrases under the health topic. Furthermore, the basic reading skills-scanning and skimming as well as the ability of paraphrasing will be trained intentionally. During this teaching period, Task-based Teaching Method and Communicative Language Teaching M

3、ethod will be the major methods applied to achieve the objectives that are mentioned above.Teaching AimsAims of knowledge:(1)be familiar with the food vocabulary and pronunciations of some uncommon words(2)grasp some significant words and phrases in the glossary and extended expressions, such as ach

4、ievement, improvement, hazard, cope with, is caused by.Aims of ability:(1)be able to predict the topic of each paragraph by scanning the pictures or some symbols in the context(2)be able to skim the less important information and speed up reading(3)try to paraphrase and accumulate the paraphrasing,

5、which is a significant and widely used ability in English learningAims of emotion:(1) think about how to balance studying and life,how to balance id and superego(2) be more active and confident in everyday expressions and reading comprehensionKey Points and Difficult PointsKey points:(1) master the

The students are supposed to express the vegetable vocabulary quickly one by one;(2)Invited students to share their game experience.Perh

8、aps some students will find that they couldnt come up with the name of some vegetables in English, even if they have them frequently.Step 2: Presentation(1)Task-Match the words with the picturesThe teacher guides the students to skim some of the too basic words and pay more attention to the unfamili

9、ar words, especially the pronunciation. The teacher will repeat the word for three times at least, encouraging the students to follow up and take some phonetic notes.(2)Short surveysThe teacher asks what students favorite and hate vegetables are and the frequency they have them.This part leads the s

10、tudents to the topic of dietary balance and healthy life style.(3)moving forward to the textThe text can be studied from several aspects:the analysis of wordsthe analysis of complex sentencesthe analysis of the structureIn this part,the teacher suggests the students read the text with exercise 1 on

11、page 120 first for the purpose of encouraging students to make predictions of the meanings of the words in the box and the paragraph topics through scanning the whole text, especially the vivid pictures.After exercise1,the teacher gives proper guidance to the students to analyze the text from the fi

12、st two aspects mentioned before. The teacher also motivates students to paraphrase some words or simple sentences.After a through reading, the teacher elaborates the whole structure of the text.(4)ExercisesThe teacher picks out 2 exercises(p.120 exercise 3&p.121 exercise 1) done in class, and gives

13、some tips before the students get started.e.g.As for T/F, pay more attention to the data,”extreme words” in the statementsF refers to the statement contradicts the content, so for some ambiguous description NM could be more suitable.Then the teacher gives the students 10 minutes to finish the exerci
