2、是波斯人和雅典人在离雅典不远的马拉松海边发生的，雅典人最终获得了反侵略的胜利。为了让故乡人民尽快知道胜利的喜讯，统帅米勒狄派一个叫菲迪皮得斯的士兵回去报信。 菲迪皮得斯是个有名的“飞毛腿”，为了让故乡人早知道好消息，他一个劲地快跑，当他跑到雅典时，已喘不过气来，只说了一句“我们胜利了！”就倒在地上死了。,为了纪念这一事件，在1896年举行的现代第一届奥林匹克运动会上，设立了马拉松赛跑这个项目，把当年菲迪皮得斯送信跑的里程42.195公里作为赛跑的距离。 马拉松原为希腊的一个地名。在雅典东北30公里。其名源出腓尼基语marathus，意即“多茴香的”，因古代此地生长众多茴香树而得名。体育运动中的
