1、Module 5 Museums,Unit 3 language in use,英语中构成新词的方法很多,其中之一就是将两个独立的单词合在一起。我们把这种构词法称为“合成词构词法”。我们目前已经学过很多通过合成方式构成的单词,比如classmate, homework, basketball, football 等等。同学们还能想出哪些合成词呢?,合成词构词法是一中十分活跃的构词方式,比如根据classmate很多同学都会联想到roommate, schoolmate, workmate, playmate等。合成的方式有很多,下面我们来看一下常见的有哪些?,1 名词+名词: 一般来讲,构成的

2、词还是名词, 如:website, homework, basketball 2 副词+名词: 可以构成形容词或者副词,如: upstairs, downstairs 都既可作形容 词,也可以作副词,常见的合成词的方式:,3 副词+动词: 一般用来构成动词。 如:download 4 名词+形容词: 构成形容词。如: word-famous, homesick(想家的),常见的合成词的方式:,合成词的发音,一、重音变化 两个或多个重读的单词合成一个单词,只能有一个音节重读,因此其余的音 节会失去重音而弱读。 如:classroom, washroom, bedroom中的room就不重读。,合

3、成词的发音,一般说来,复合名词的第一个音节重读。如: bedroom, blackboard, breakfast, classroom, football, grandmother, grandfather, midnight, playhouse, washroom等。 但afternoon, forget, goodbye是第二 个音节重读。,二、字母或字母组合读音变化 由于部分音节失去重音而弱读,音节 内的字母或字母组合的读音也要随之 变化。如: man /-policeman, for /-forget, break /ei/ -breakfast /e/ room /u:/ -cl
