They are generally thought as the birthplace of Chinese civilization. Apart from Henan Province, they also include parts of

3、 Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei, Shangdong, ect. The campaign was led by Mao Zedong and aimed to rapidly transform the country from an agrarian(农业的) economy into a communist society through rapid industrialization and collectivization. 6、ellow River is the second-longest river in Asia, following the Yangtze River, and the sixth-longest in the world at the estimated length of 5,464 km (3,395 mi). Originating in the Bayan Har Mountains(巴颜喀拉山) in Qinghai province, it flows through nine provinces, and it empties into the Bohai Sea near

7、the city of Dongying in Shandong province. The Yellow River is called “the cradle of Chinese civilization“, because its basin was the birthplace of ancient Chinese civilization, and it was the most prosperous region in early Chinese history.,back,Giant Panda,Giant Panda is a bare native to south cen

8、tral China. Though it belongs to the order Carnivora(食肉类), the pandas diet is over 99% bamboo. Pandas in the wild will occasionally eat other grasses, wild tubers, or even meat in the form of birds, rodents (啮齿动物) or carrion(腐肉).,In captivity, they may receive honey, eggs, fish, yams(甘薯), shrub leav

9、es, oranges, or bananas along with specially prepared food.,The giant panda lives in a few mountain ranges in central China, mainly in Sichuan province, but also in the Shaanxi and Gansu provinces. As a result of farming, deforestation and other development, the panda has been driven out of the lowl

10、and areas where it once lived. The panda is a conservation reliant endangered species. A 2007 report shows 239 pandas living in captivity inside China and another 27 outside the country. While the dragon has often served as Chinas national emblem, internationally the panda appears at least as common

11、ly. As such, it is becoming widely used within China in international contexts, for example the five Fuwa mascots of the Beijing Olympics.,IV.
