2、ng and covers the physical housing condition and suitability of housing.Geographic ReferencingNo geo-referencing issuesRelevanceThe SIMD is the Scottish Governments tool for identifying small area concentrations of multiple deprivation across all of Scotland and is relevant to policies aimed at tack
3、ling the causes and effects of multiple deprivation. The Housing domain contributes to the overall index and had a weighting of 2 per cent of the total indicator in the SIMD2009. Key indicator used to monitor: This is indicator is useful for SOAs as it can be used to identify small area concentratio
4、ns of Housing deprivation within a local authority, and it can also indicate how Housing deprived the LA is as a whole. The SIMD is used in the National Performance Framework in context of the Strategic Objective we have tackled the significant inequalities in Scottish society It underpins many of t
5、he National Indicators but is not one in its own right and therefore does not have a Scotland Performs arrow.Quality Assurance The SIMD is a Scottish Government National Statistics Publication. Data are Quality Assured before inclusion. Consultation is ongoing to try and determine other indicators f

8、n from the census this data has not been updated since 2001. Denominator 2001 Census population of people living in householdsAccuracy Uses census data Comparability The indicator in 2009 is identical to the indicator used in the 2004 and 2006 versions of the SIMD as both use the 2001 census. A suit
9、able replacement has not yet been identified. Geographical Availability The SIMD 2009 Housing Domain is produced at datazone level. The indicators used are taken from the census and so are available at various geographies through SCROL (see below). Available on SNS?Within the Advanced Reporter on th
