2、1 silence n. 寂静；无声【点拨】silence是不可数名词，其常用结构：in silence意为“沉默地，无声地”，keep in silence意为“保持沉默”；形容词是silent。keep silent=keep in silence保持沉默。 2 bright adj. 欢快的；明亮的【辨析】clever；wise；bright与smart都有“聪明”的意思，其区别在于：clever“聪明的、伶俐的、巧妙的、机敏的”用以指人或动物时，通常指脑子灵活，指做成的事物时，常含有巧妙的意思，例如： He is a clever boy. 他是个聪明的孩子。Thats a cleve
3、r plan. 那是个巧妙的计划。 wise“聪明的、英明的、明智的”指由于知识、经验的丰富及良好的判断能力而正确地对待或处理人和事，通常用于正式的、客气的场合。例如：a wise saying 至理名言 a wise leader 英明的领袖bright“欢快的、聪明的、伶俐的”通常指年青人或小孩，常用于口语中。例如：The bright boy is reading English in the bright room.那欢快的男孩在明亮的房间里在读英语。smart“机敏的、精明的”与clever同义。但强调顽皮的一面，为随便的说法。例如：You cant cheat him, becau
4、se he is a smart boy.你不能欺骗他，因为他是一个精明的男孩。 3 trust v. & n. 信任；信赖【点拨】trust sb表示“相信某人”，一般意义的相信；trust in sb表示“信赖某人”表示非常相信某人，达到信赖的程度。 例如：Trust in the Lord. Trust the destiny. 信赖上帝。相信命运 4 include v. 包括；把列为一部分【点拨】include是动词，意为“包括”；而including是介词，意为包括在内，后接名词或代词；included是形容词，意为“包括在内的”，位于句末，其引导的短语在句子中经常用作状语。例如：

9、e lonely. 每当我听到其他同学说笑，我感到更加孤独。【点拨】(1)every time 意为“每次”，在本句中相当于一个连词，引导时间状语从句，可以换为each time。常用的这类名词短语还有the day, by the time, the moment等。例如：Every/ Each time I met him, he wore a blue shirt. 每次我遇到他，他都穿着一件蓝色的衬衫。(2) even 意为“甚至”，用于修饰比较级。比较级前面还可用much, a lot, a little 或a bit 等词修饰，表示不同程度。例如：He is much strong

Day by day, I learnt to trust people. 日子一天天过去了，我学会了信任的人。【点拨】(1)learn to do sth. 意为“学会做某事”。例如：She learned/ learnt to swim at the age of ten. 十岁时她学会了游泳。(2)day by day 表示“每天，一天比一天地，日益”， 表示事情的逐渐变化过程，只能作状语。day after day日复一日（无变化）。例如：T
11、rees grow taller day by day. 树一天天地长得更高。The sun rises in the east day after day. 太阳日复一日地在东方升起。 9 Now I believe that the world is what you think it is. 现在我相信世界就是你想像的那个样子。【点拨】that the world is what you think it is是一个宾语从句，做动词believe的宾语。在这个宾语从句中，what you think it is又是一个表语从句，意思是“你想象的那个样子”。This is what you
