2、re details, call sb. on , a mixture of , have problems with sth., be able to, come up with, be suitable for三、本节课的考点及考题 考点 1. otherwise 否则归纳otherwise 一词最常见用法是放在句首，表示 “要不然”“否则”。如： You have to go now, otherwise youll miss your train.你得马上动身，要不然就赶不上火车了。 I borrowed some money from my parents, otherwise I
3、couldnt pay for it.我向父母借了些钱，否则就我付不起了。考点 2. Well, he likes to dream. I dont think hed be able to concentrate.他喜欢幻想。我认为他不可能集中精力。用法词组 be able to 和情态动词 cana. be able to 词组中，be 是连系动词，able 是形容词作表语，to 为不定式符号，后接动词的原形，作“ 能够 ”“有能力”解释时，不仅有现在式，而且还有过去式和将来式。如： Everyone was able to run away from the burning house.
4、每个人都能够从那着火的房子里逃出来。 The river is wide but he is able to swim across it. 尽管河很宽，但他能够游过去。b. be able to 往往表示 “经过努力能成功地做”，而 can 和 could 仅表示一种“ 能力”。如： Animals cant use tools. 动物不会使用工具。 He couldnt speak when he was five. 他五岁还不会说话。考点 3. Who else would be suitable? 还有谁会更适合呢用法a. else 作形容词用时，常跟在疑问代词、不定代词之后，有时也可
5、修饰疑问副词，表示“别的 ”“其他的”。如： What else do you want? 你还要别的什么？ Who else did he want to invite to his party? 他还邀请了其他什么人去参加他的聚会了吗？ What else would you like to take? 你看还需要什么吗？ Little else is known of her name. 除了她的名字，其余就知之甚少了。 Where else did you go when you were in Australia? 你在澳大利亚时还去过什么地方？b. other 通常与 any, s
6、ome, no 及定冠词 the 搭配使用，表示“另外一些” ；与every 搭配使用，表示“每隔”。后面接可数名词的单数形式时，other 前面必须有限定词，否则只能用 another。如： Mary is here, but the other girls are still out in the playground.玛丽在这儿，可是其他的女生都还在操场上。 Do you have any other books on this subject? 你还有这方面的书吗？ I am very busy now. You can ask me about it some other time.
