2、ntomovieform.ThelatestmovieversionofXXwonover100millionbookingoffice.Theauthor,JaneAusten,Englishwriter,wastheseventhofeightchildrenandshewasborninthevillageofSteventoninHampshirein1775anddiedin1817.JaneAustenaccepthereducationathomeandbegintowriteatherearlyage.Austenwaswidelyreadinherlifetime,andwr

3、otemany1793,JaneAustenbegantowriteElinorandMarianne,anovellaterreworkedintoSenseandyearslater,shewrotefirstImpressions,whichwasanearlyversionofhermasterpiecePrideand1797,shewroteSusan,lateritbecomeNorthangerAbbey.In1811,shewroteMansfieldwroteEmmain1814andPersuasionin1816.Clarity,economy,skillful,use

4、ofdialogueandtightplottingarethemainfeaturesofJaneAustensisalwaysaneat,roundandrathersatisfyingcompletenesstoherplots.Besides,sheispossessedofaneathumorandasatiricaltouch.Althoughthemosturgentpreoccupationofherbright,youngheroinesiscourtshipandfinallymarriage,Austenherselfnevermarried.VirginiaWoolfc

5、alledAustenthemostperfectartistamongwomen.PLOTOPrideandPrejudicehasbeenconsideredthemostimportantandfamousnovelamongallherworks.ThenarrativebeginwithMrBingley,awealthy,charmingandsocialyoungmanmovingintoNetherfieldhouseintheneighborhoodoftheBennetfamilywhichhasfivemarriageabledaughters.Thefirstscene

6、isataballafterMrBingleysballthedaughtersareintroducedtothenewcomers.MrBingleysinglesoutElizabethseldersister,Jane,forparticularattention,anditsoonbecomesapparentthattheyhaveformedanattachmenttoeach,MrBingleysfriend,MrDarcymakesalessfavorablefirstimpressionbyappearingproudandcondescendin.Especially,J

7、anereallygetarevoltingfeelingonhim.MrsbannetwantJanetopayavisittoMrBingleyssister,inordertoincreasecome-and-go.Unfortunately,Janeiscaughtinaheavydownpour,catchescold,andisforcedtostayatNetherfieldforseveraldays.Elizabetharrivestocoinhastwosides,allthisunfortunatecreateanopportunityforthetwosistersto
