12、. The Egyptian PyramidThe Egyptian pyramids are ancient pyramid-shaped masonry (砖石结构) structures located in Egypt. There are over 100 pyramids in Egypt. Most were built as tombs for the countrys Pharaohs (the rulers who were the religious and political leaders of ancient Egypt) and their consorts (配

13、偶) during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods. The best known Egyptian pyramids are those found at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo.
