5、nst the realities of a desert climate. “One of the biggest challenges is getting the right site orientation(朝向),” Mark. McGinty, a director at SH Architecture, says. His firm recently completed a high school in Las Vegas. “You have the same building, same set of windows, but if its orientation is in

6、correct and it faces the sun, it will be really expensive to cool.” Surprisingly, the man responsible for one of re most progressive green- design competitions has doubts about ideas of eco-friendly buildings. “I dont believe in the new green religion,” Gerner says. “Some of the building technologie

7、s that you get are impractical. Im interested in those that work.” But he wouldnt mind if some green features inspire students. He says he hopes to set up green energy systems that allow them to learn about the process of harvesting wind and solar power. “You never know whats going to start the inte

14、rsbut at the cost of losing their own. Two thirds of the people tested agreed to do this.This seems to prove the entrepreneurs were right to complain. But there is also conflicting evidence. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) recently reported that the UK was now the wo

15、rlds fourth largest economy .That is not bad for people who are supposed to hate success. People in the UK also work longer hours than anyone else in Europe. So the British people are not lazy, either.“Its not really success that the British dislike,” says Carey Cooper, a Professor of management at

16、the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. “Its people using their success in a way that seems arrogant (傲慢) or unfair or which separates them from their roots .”Perhaps it is the entrepreneurs who are the problem. They set out to do things in their way. They work long hours. By their own efforts they become millionaires. But instead
