7、on display on that day was anything but small Projects carried out by students ranged from recycling, organic rooftop gardening, composting, solar energy, and tree planting, to name a few, and thanks to Dr. Good all, overflowing with inspiration On Friday September 24, Roots & Shoots hosted an envir
8、onmental fair where approximately 26 local and international schools showcased their efforts towards environmental sustainability. Although the fair represented only a segment of Shanghai, the combined environment impact on display on that day was anything but small Projects carried out by students
9、ranged from recycling, organic rooftop gardening, composting, solar energy, and tree planting, to name a few. Students were able to circulate around the fair and learn from each others work. The highlight of the fair came when the founder of Roots & Shoots, world- renowned grammatologist, conservati
10、onist, and United Nations Messenger of Peace, Dr. Jane Good all, visited each display. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to interact with a modern-day champion of the environment. Later in the evening, Dr. Good all personally presented YCIS Shanghais Sing Lin Environment Club fr
11、om the Pixy campus and Ecology Action Team from the Pudding campus with certificates for raising enough money to plant 1,000 trees in Inner Mongolia as part of Roots & Shoots Million Tree Project. Following the award ceremony, Dr. Good all took to the stage to deliver her message to a packed auditorium. Students walked away with an enriched appreciation for their efforts, and thanks to Dr. Good all, overflowing with inspiration.
